San Francisco- don't care whether you're chinese, black, white or whatever. However if you're from NEw york, don;t bring your attuitude.. haha.. There's a few good clubs in Sf for 18, but 21 are the best! www.sfclubs.com =) Not sure what type of food you like, but the holes in the wall restaurants have some great eats! What are some fun things an 18 year old can do in San Francisco?
You can eat out on a budget in Chinatown. Try the dim sum (hot pastries of all kinds-- pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, bbq pork buns, custard tarts, egg rolls). If you like pizza and Italian food, you can get some in North Beach. But the food is cheaper on Fillmore Street. You can get SF souvenirs on Grant Ave in Chinatown. The lowest prices and it's the same merchandise that you will find on Fisherman's Wharf. If you want Ghiradelli chocolates (including in gift tins/boxes), the prices are lowest in Walgreens (again, cheaper than in Fisherman's wharf for the exact same stuff). Shopping? You have a lot of choices, otoh, SF isn't cheap. You can find high end stuff downtown-- Neiman-Marcus, Burberry, Gucci and lower prices at Ross, Marshall's, etc. If you like hippie stuff like 1960 vinyl records, tie dye t-shirts, there are a lot of those shops in the "Haight-Ashbury."
