Is San Diego or San Francisco better for vacation during November?

Me and my BF have decided to vacation in Cali but I don't know which locale is best as far as weather, things to do/ see and scenery. I'm 25 and he's 30 but we don't really care about the party scene but moreso having full fun days and lots of photo ops. I had decided on SF but then I became concerned about the rain. Is rain a big issue during November?Is San Diego or San Francisco better for vacation during November?
It doesn't usually rain that much in November... That's mostly in December and January (and the next few days, for some weird reason... wtf?). But it's certainly not unheard of.



Temp-wise... it's never too cold, but never very hot. It'll probably be in the mid-upper 50s during the day (low 60s if you're really lucky) and upper 40s at night. San Francisco has "sweater weather" pretty much year round.



San Diego would definitely be warmer, and pretty much zero chance of rain.



In terms of which is prettier... San Francisco. San Diego is pretty gross, really... lots of bad areas, lots of ugly developments. Most of it looks like an overgrown suburb. San Francisco has lots of parks, forest (immediately north and south are hills/forest/rocky coastline), old/pretty buildings, etc... Also has more to do and more unique neighborhoods.



So... rain *probably* won't be an issue (but not certain) in San Francisco, and most definitely won't be in San Diego. San Diego will be warmer, but San Francisco won't be that cold. San Francisco is way more visually appealing and easier to get around.



EDIT: SF isn't foggy in late fall/winter... the fog really only happens when inland areas are hot (ie: mostly summer). It's a small city, so easy to get from place to place. Should you leave, Half Moon Bay, Stinson Beach, Petaluma, Bolinas, the Wine Country, etc... are all short drives away. Also, going between San Diego and SF is an option, as someone else said... flights between the two are very cheap. You could fly into one, then fly to the other, then fly home from there for only about $100 extra between the two of you.



San Diego doesn't completely suck... certain things about it are nice (warm beaches, close to Mexico, etc...), and the weather will be great in November. Hotels there are also generally cheaper. It's definitely a more suburb-like city, though, and not as eclectic (it's also big and sometimes difficult to get from place to place)... but it can still be fun to visit.Is San Diego or San Francisco better for vacation during November?
Rain isnt much of an issue, but it will be very cold in SF at night. You may catch a break during the day though. SF weather is iffy in November. Its a great city, and I hate to say this, but I'd rather be in SD in November.

Omigod, San Diego! is the best choice! Since I live there, I'd know. The weather's nice around November. It's actually just starting to cool down now. It'll be around 70 average in November so it'll be nice, but I would try testing the beach water because that'll be freezing despite the awesome waves. You really don't have to worry about rain much either. And on a day when you're bored, which won't happen :), then you can head down to Mexico for a dinner or something. I also suggest staying at the Hotel Del. Quite nice there. And if you go there, be sure to visit the Coronado area and the La Jolla area (especially if you want to shop :)) because they have the really scenery. El Cajon and Rancho San Diego have more of an urban setting if that's what you're looking for. There's a few hotels down there too. There's a couple links down there for you.



Almost forgot, but definitely don't miss out on the zoo. We have a new panda that was born over the summer. So exciting!
Oh my gosh! San Diego is the best...way better than San Francisco! San Fran is cold in the evening, especially in the fall. San Diego has tons of great scenery, is warmer than San Francisco and has great places to eat and lots of things to do. Head to the beach for lots of photo ops. You can stay in San Diego or in the surrounding suberbs - I like the suburbs best. Head to some of the wineries for good food and great wine. See yourself. You can visit both( round trip airfare less than $100 in southwest airline)



Both cities are totally different, rain is not an issue.
SF is windy, foggy, and coldest in the winter. drive up the coast for nice scenery.

San Diego is warm year round.

Go to the beach. Sea world. San Diego is much bigger.
