I am planning to go vacation in Frisco with my boyfriend but we are on a limited budget, what are some fun touristy things to do?What is something fun to do in San Francisco that is cheap?
Public transportation is the easiest cheapest way to get around The City. Find fare information at http://www.sfmuni.com. The 3 day pass is a steal and the weekly passes are also a good value.



Exploring Golden Gate Park is free and there are lots of fun things to do there. You can rent a paddle boat, visit the Conservatory of Flowers [Admission was only $5 last time I went] the Japanese Tea Garden is also very inexpensive.



Visit the Golden Gate Bridge and Ft. Point. Free!



All of the museums have free days

And there are other museums that are always free like the Wells Fargo Museum on Montgomery at California, the Randall Museum up hill from the Castro, the SF Railway Museum and Musee Mecanique on the Embarcadaro to name a few.



There are free walking tours of the city given by city guides.

You can purchase 1/2 price theatre tickets the day of a show at the Tix Booth on Union Square.

Sightsee! It doesn't cost anything to go to places and take pictures (Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, Japantown, Haight Street - there's lots of thrift stores too). And you can go to Chinatown, everything is cheap there xD



Also, if you come during the first Tuesday of the month you can go to any museum for free. First Wednesday, the zoo and Exploratorium (science museum where almost everything is interactive) are free. First Sunday, the Asian Art Museum is free. And third Wednesday, the Academy of Science is free (crowded, but free).



(but if you go to all those places, you should probably take the bus because parking will be painful..)
