all these hotels are new or newly refurbished, cheap, safe and nice.
the 'hotel del sol' is frequented by traveling bands, rock stars.
be wary of any other cheap hotels, not listed here. things can get scary in the city especially around market, and the loin.

b.t.w. always book hotels over the phone, not online, this advice will save you money, trust me.

Hotels are expensive. Period. The Oasis on Franklin Street in the Civic Center is not too bad and is centrally located.
Things to do:
Golden Gate Park - rollerskate, bike ride, boat ride, Japanese Tea Garden, Art Museum, Conservatory of Flowers, great hiking and jogging trails.
Downtown: Chinatown, the Embarcadero Center, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, North Beach, cable cars, Museum of Modern Art, Pier 39, Bay Cruise.
Ocean side: Fort Funston, Ocean Beach, Cliff House, Sutro Baths, cliff side trail from there to the Golden Gate Bridge, walk across the bridge.
That is just a teensy tiny slice of what you can do in San Francisco.Weekend in San Francisco?

OH MY you girls will have so much fun in SF.. Well go to Pier 39, alot of shops and places to eat.. Dont forget to take a picture at the end of the pier, really great view.. You could take a Cruise on one of the days. They are always completing and you can get the best prices that way.. China town is great for shopping and eating.. Very nice people... go south down town to the square and there is the mall for just about anything... And of course the beaches are great and the weather hopefully will work out for you.. but always take a coat, hat, and scraf.. OR buy some of these things... Well have fun and be safe..
A restaurant you MUST eat at is the Citrus Club. In the lovely Haight %26amp; Ashbury neighborhood. It's asian cuisine.
