Things to do at night in San Francisco w/o drinking?

Hi,

I'm giong to SF around Thanksgiving and wanted to know what I should do at night. I鈥檓 going to try to find a hotel around fisherman鈥檚 wharf or pier 39. I know where we want to go during the day but not sure for the night. What time pier 39 closes? Is there anywhere two (female) siblings can enjoy(one teenager)?

I searched the web but it lists bars and clubs鈥︹€?br>

And how鈥檚 the weather in later Nov.?Things to do at night in San Francisco w/o drinking?
It's true that SF is normally chilly in November, but it could also be warm. SF is notorious for the wacky weather, but this is why you layer!!!! It will most likely be rainy or overcast.

There are a lot of fun things to do, and the great part is that you don't have to drive to most of them because of Muni/Bart.

*Go to Haight St.

*Catch a 49ers game (if you like sports)

*Go shopping in Union Square

*Catch dinner in North Beach or China Town. (also get some desert and coffee....yum!)

*Go to the Golden Gate Bridge. It's so beautiful!

*Go to Treasure Island. You can easily see the Bay Bridge, and if it's not overcast, you can see the Golden Gate.

*Go visit AT%26amp;T park. It's not that far away from the Embarcadaro.

*Catch a concert. Maybe a band you like it touring in the Bay. The venues here are amazing!

*Visit Alcatraz!! It looks so cool at night! (and the boats leave from the piers, so you're not far away).

*Even if you're not up for shopping, take a stroll around Union Square, and the Financial District. Just watch out because not a lot of people are up for this. I personally like it because it's cool being around people who are speaking other languages, but it can get crowded. Overall, I love just strolling around Stockton, Montgomery, Bush, etc......but that's just me :P

*GO TO THE ZOO!!!

Yeah there is a TON of stuff to do. That's only a small fraction. You definitely don't have to drink to have fun here!!!Things to do at night in San Francisco w/o drinking?
You HAVE to go to Union Square at night when you come! It is SO beautiful during the holidays. If you stay near Pier 39, you can hang out there for a while, walk down to Ghirardelli Square and get an AMAZING cupcake from Kara'a Cupcake, then take the cable car from Hyde St to Union Square (where it ends). Then you can spend the night ice skating there. I believe its about $13 a person for 1 1/2 of skating鈥攑retty good deal! The Cheesecake Factory is right there at the top of Macy's... beautiful view of everything. Then you can just take the cable car back!
....Should the weather permit. Ice skating will still be open, just really wet! The weather then is COLD, around 40-50 degrees at night so dress warm =)

They have night tours of San Francisco (I think SF looks better at night then during the day).

Hard to say what late November weather will be like. Right now in mid-October, it's been clear and warm. Sometimes it can clear in late November. Sometimes it'll be rainy. Sometimes it'll be cool (cold, by my standards) but dry, sometimes cold but rainy. Could be anything.Things to do at night in San Francisco w/o drinking?
It is really chilly during late Nov. in SF.

Pier 39 is always open, however, the restaurants and shops are not. Closing time for restaurants and shops vary. At night, you can watch a film at the Clay Theatre, walk along the beaches, have a bonfire, view the Coit Tower and Golden Gate Bridge, watch the Bay at Rincon Park.

Enjoy.

Chill and go check out Candlestick Park or the NFL shop at Pier 39.
San Francisco is not a large city. So you can venture out of Pier 39 for your night life. One area to avoid: Tenderloin (be careful when sight seeing around Union Square, it's easy to venture into this neighborhood without realizing it). I don't consider it too dangerous since I know where I'm heading but tourists can stick out so I'd avoid it if I were you (especially during the evening).

Also, when you stop by Union Square, walk up a few blocks and visit Chinatown and North Beach. If you're open minded I would visit the Castro. A great idea is to attend Macy's Xmas Tree Lighting in Union Square. It occurs annually around Thanksgiving and is always in the evening.

Clubbing and bar hopping is great and all, but my favorite thing to do is eat out! San Francisco is such a diverse place and it's choice of food is just as eclectic. You don't have to eat at a five-star restaurant to get great food here. Upper Fillmore has great restaurant spots (I recommend SPQR) during the evening.

As someone else mentioned San Francisco weather is a wild-card. But, IMO you can't go wrong with jeans, a light sweater, and sneakers. Bring a coat, scarf and umbrella just in case the weather dips into inclement weather.

Oh yea, and ignore the homeless. Don't be surprised the first time you see a vagrant. Trust me, you'll see plenty more.
