Will my current admission status be affected?

Okay, I live in San Francisco and I'm almost supposed to graduate from high school. However, there is just one thing keeping me from that accomplishment which is the swim test. I cannot swim and I have eczema which acts up when I'm in a pool. I'm thinking about getting a doctor's note but if worse comes to worse where my doctor won't give me a doctor's note and I cannot graduate, I plan to just take an exam to get a GED as an alternative.

So here's my question: I have been accepted to a UC (University of California) and I have already signed the SIR. If I really do not get a high school diploma and instead, I get the GED, will my current admission status for the fall semester 2010? Or will I have to wait until the winter semester?

Here's the thing: San Francisco's school district is the only city in California (and possibly in the US) that requires the swim test. I have never heard of another school requiring a swim test to get a diploma, not even other cities in California. So if I fail high-school JUST because of the swim test, will they still let me in?

Again: the swim test is the ONLY thing that is keeping me from graduating. My grades are no where near failing. Will my current admission status be affected?
A swim test seems to be a fairly draconian requirement for graduation but from articles I can find a parent or guardian note should be enough to get you out of the swim requirement. If you have a known disability that prevents you from being able to pass the test I can not see how the school could hold you to it.

On that note, the question of whether or not getting a GED instead of the Diploma would affect your entrance status would be best directed to UC. If it is an issue I would say get confirmation from the school that the only reason you did not get a normal diploma is because of the swim test. That is a seriously outstanding and special circumstance which I'm sure if explained UC would take that into consideration.
