Disband the JROTC because of its policy concerning homosexuals, this is the way most San Fran people thank their country and celebrate holidaysWhat is the best way to celebrate Christmas eve in San Francisco?
Most people there just find some gay activities.

There is a number of really good ethnic restaurants around market St. and Plenty of good places around Pier 39/ Fisherman's wharf. Many of the Fisherman's wharf restaurants are mostly Italian.

I am not too sure about he club scene in the City. Feel free to send and E-mail and I can refer you to some good places to eat.
There are several comedy clubs in S.F. if you are into that type of entertainment. All the major hotels have a "guide" book which is updated regularly with popular attractions and restaurants. Or just pick up a newspaper or go on-line to SF GATE.COM.

Some restaurants may have limited dinner service on Eve.What is the best way to celebrate Christmas eve in San Francisco?
I would go ice skating then go out to eat whith a girl then get a good motel in Berkeley then find some Pub to drink beer or wine.
Go down to Union Square, see the Macy's and Neiman Marcus trees and decorations (very "Christmas in NY or Chicago" in feel), have a drink down there at any of the fun bars / restaurants then cab it over to North Beach for a nice warm italian dinner. NB is the most Christmas-ey neighborhood in SF (the Italian heritage and cultural willingness to whoop it up on holidays). After that you could go to the Top of the Mark (at the top of the Mark Hopkins Hotel) for a nightcap and dancing. Midnight Mass at Grace Catherdral on top of Nob Hill is an great late-night plan - even if you're not religious (like me), it's a great sample/sound-bite of the best of organized religion. Oh yeah - Union Square, the Mark Hopkins and Grace Cathedral are all inthe same area so if you're not inclined to head over to North Beach and want to find dinner at any of the great restaurants around Union Square that would make it really easy to do everything above. Have fun.
Go to the Starlight Room on Union Square. This is at the top of the Francis Drake Hotel. You will see the best views of San Francisco from up there.
