What are some good things to do in LA with a friend from San Francisco?

I've got a good friend coming down from San Francisco during their Spring Break, and I was wondering what other people had in mind as ideas for things to do.

We can't really drink or even stay out that late (past 10 or 11, or whatever the curfew is for people under 18), so any recreational ideas that would be good for a 17 year old would be awesome.

All ideas welcome! Throughout all of Los Angeles, not just a specific area.

They're into art, manga, anime, all that good stuff. So anything relating to that would get bonus points, hahaha.

Thanks for any help :)What are some good things to do in LA with a friend from San Francisco?
There is tons of stuff in LA to do! If they like art, there's the Getty Center Museum, or MOCA (The Museum of Contemporary Art). Also, if your friend is really in manga and anime, go ahead and take them down to Little Tokyo. There's tons of local shops in Little Tokyo that specifically cater to people that are really into anime--many sell unique merchandise you won't find anywhere else. Other than that, there's also all the "standard" things in LA to do, like going to Hollywood to the Chinese Grauman Theater and catching a movie, or going to the El Capitan Theater. Right in front of the Chinese Grauman Theater you can also take pictures with people who dress up as characters or impersonate famous actors. (Remember though, that these people do this for living, so they expect a tip sometimes) There is the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well. If you are into looking for celebrities, go to West LA/ Beverly Hills. Once there go to Robertson Blvd and see if you can find any. (You can go to Kitsons, Fred Segal, a restaurant called The Ivy. If you are lucky enough to see someone famous, it would probably be in this general area, as I think celebrities tend to avoid real touristy places like Rodeo Dr.)

Things to do around LA:

Just a little south of LA you can head down to Orange County. There are lots of beaches: Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, along with beaches in San Clemente and Dana Point. There's also Disneyland and California Adventure too in Anaheim, along with Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park. Laguna Beach (before the TV show) was mostly known not only for its beaches, but for its local artists. There are tons of local art galleries, and it is not rare to often see people relaxing by the beach while painting the ocean. There is also the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana for more art stuff too. If in Orange County and you are into shopping, there is South Coast Plaza--a huge mall with practically every shop you can think of for every budget. (Shops there include anything from Prada and Louis Vuitton to Sears and Macy's.)

This is just the tip of the iceberg, in reality there are so many things to do, but these are just some quick ideas to help get you started. What are some good things to do in LA with a friend from San Francisco?
You could go to the Macy's at Riverside Mall tomorrow. I will meet you there at 2:00 pm
