I'm taking a trip to San Francisco in about a month, and was wondering what are the must-see places there?Things to do in San Franciso?
One thing that is nice though is that we have the most mild weather. Pretty much year around it stays between 50-70 degrees. Never snows, rains a little but not much, rarely gets too hot and is not humid at all--so its safe for curly haired people
However, we have foggy fog year around also--but a lot more fog in the summer--crazy I know!
1. San Fran is known for the food, we have the BEST food, seriously. But especially Burritos. SF is the home of the burrito, we invented it--we own it--we do it right. So go get one on Mission st. El farolito is my fav. Also our chinese food is the best! Go to chinatown to see/eat/shop. North Beach for italian food...real italian food. Also seafood/crab especially at the wharf
2. Best views can be seen from Coit Tower and Twin Peaks.
3. Tourist traps include fishermans warf, lots of seafood, wax muesems, arcade and little tourist shops.
4. Depending on how old you are there are 3 nightlife areas. The first and most popular would be Northbeach/Broadway. Its packed with late night cafes/italian restaurants, bars, strip clubs and nightclubs. San Francisco was the first place in the country to allow strip clubs/ topless dancing. So its historic! The other ones are Union St and Folsom st.
5 Go scope out a cannabis club--they are everywhere you can find locations online, however you cant go inside if you dont have a card.
6. Chinatown--where else can you find illegal brass knuckles and tea cups in the same place and all for 3 bucks!
7.The brand new aquarium/ Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Recently anointed with the title of one of the new worlds, 7 wonders of the world. Which also gives you a chance to scope out Golden Gate Park. Go to stow lake and rent a boat or go check out Hippy Hill and watch the minions "trip out"
8. Haight Street...because its the hippy capitol even if now it has been invaded by rich suburb kids posing as hippies...you can go see where all the famous people lived. Ask anyone down there over 25 and they will have a story for you about who was where and when. Plus some cool shopping
9. For shopping you can go big and go to Union Square, its like NYC times square but nicer. Stores from Boss to Prada, Betsey Johnson to Crate %26amp; Barrel. Other places to shop include Hayes Valley (right near downtown) very posh, and Union St %26amp; Fillmore (posh also) .
10. Ghirardelli square! Its SF's chocolate....go eat some , its great.
11. The exploratorium is pretty on the outside and cool on the inside. Its a science museum.
12. The SF Zoo...its where that kid got eaten by the tiger last year ( that sucked, but I still recommend it) .Plus it is at the Beach so you can kill two birds with one stone!
13. Check out the tenderloin . Its an interesting part of SF. Some people get scared but I think thats crazy. Its kinda fun to sit back and watch the lives of all these people (some high, some not, interact. Dont take pictures though...people might think you are a cop. Plus its right near Van Ness St and on Van Ness you can go to Tommy's Joynt. Its a old Hauf Bras style. Its Hometown hero's Metallic eat here all the time, well...when they can.
14. And of course the obvious one , The Golden Gate Bridge soon it wont be free to walk on it so jump on the offer. At the edge of the Bridge is the Presidio, once an army base protecting America in WWII it now is home to movie studios and Museums . You can see ruins of old soilder baracades and rusted up canons. On one side of the presidio is Baker Beach which is our nude beach--not all hot women like in France though so proceed with EXTREME caution lol mainly old hippie baby boomers
15.Alcatraz...take the tour or just take pictures from the pier
16. Lastly, there are tons of places to go right outside of the city. Thanks to BART and other transportation we have you can access them rather easily. Places to consider- Berkeley, Oakland, Marin Headlands and the ancient Redwood Forests, Napa ( wine country), Vallejo *Six Flags is there*, San Jose/Silicon Valley *Paramount's Great America Theme Park*, Livermore which also has a bit of Wine Country.

my great selfThings to do in San Franciso?
Obviously, the Golden Gate Bridge - that one is a classic. If you are traveling with young kids, the Exploratorium is a fun place to go. It has alot of interactive things to do and a lot of experiments to entertain a wide range of ages. One of my favorite things to do is to take a bus around the city. The No. 30 bus takes you through a lovely tour of Little Italy and China Town and also takes to the Exploratorium. The bus system, aside from being quite pleasant, is very cost effective - if budget is a problem. The mall right outside the Powell St. BART station is a little more upscale and spendy, but if money is not an object it can be a good place to relax.
