Cheap things to do in San Fran?

My husband and I are planning a trip to San Francisco in January and we're on a budget. Anyone have inexpensive ideas of things to do in the area? Even if in surrounding areas of San Francisco. Thanks!Cheap things to do in San Fran?
So many things to do, luckily I live here %26amp; can do them all:

1. Visit Alcatraz

2. Ride the Cable Cars

3. Take the ferry down to Sausolito

4. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge

5. Go to Mitchells Ice Cream Shop

6. Go walking downtown

7. Visit the Piers

8. Go to the Redwood forests

9. Visit Pacifica, approximately 15 minutes from the city, has one of Nor-Cals favorite beaches called Linda Mar. Make sure it's sunny out though!Cheap things to do in San Fran?

Muir Woods!!
Walk around SF Chinatown, there's plenty of shops that have indefinite sales going on. Cheap eats, dim sum snacks, and strange shops. Cheap things to do in San Fran?

Your best bet is to gorge on scenery--

Walk across the golden gate bridge, wander through golden gate park and the presidio, hike through the marin headlands, peruse china town and sausalito, visit fort point (under the gg bridge), drive along the coast (assuming gas is still relatively inexpensive in two months...) It's a great and very beautiful city to just wander around, and that can be done fairly cheaply.

Also if you want to see Alcatraz--which obviously does cost money--make sure you make reservations well in advance.
I dont know what cheap is to you.

But you can go to pier 39 $15 per person for either the Bay Aquarium or the Ripleys Believe It or Not Museum which is so fun. Don't go to the wax museum. Walking around pier 39 is fun itself. lots of photo oppurtunities.
