All the iPhone thefts. Gotta love San Fran.
San Francisco is the most beautiful and interesting city I have ever seen. But it is the huge areas of public lands for hiking and camping in the immediate area surrounding SF that I miss most. What's the best thing about San Francisco?
i love the fact that it is a city on the eastern part of the peninsula, suburbs on the western part, and has a beach.
San Francisco is amazing because there is always something to do.
Shopping? Head to Stonestown Galleria, Market %26amp; Powell, Pacific Heights, or Haight.
Hungry? Try any type of food in San Francisco! Chinese, Middle Eastern, Japanese, Italian, Vegan, Greek, Korean, Seafood, or some good ol' southern-style cooking. What's the best thing about San Francisco?
All I can say is: What's not the best about SF?
San Francisco has good climate, not too hot. Great restaurants. Love driving up and down hills. Beautiful scenery of the bay. I lived in Willow Glen. San Jose is like Los Angeles except for downtown. Lot of Spanish stucco homes in Willow Glen. Downtown SJ has victorian homes. But it is too hot in San Jose, too smoggy. Some good areas like Cupertino, Campbell, Los Altos, Los Gatos. Closer to drive to Santa Cruz than from San Francisco.
The best thing about SF depends on what you're most interested in: scenery, vibe, food, entertainment, shopping, lifestyle...
Point is that it has everything: It's a relatively small city (as cities go) with big city feel: culture, shopping, food, etc.
It's been "progressive" - attracting people on the cutting edge (art, literature, music, entrepreneurship/business, technology, cuisine, etc.) for 150 years! Think about some of the names you associate with the city. And it's one of the really beautiful cities in the world.
I like that it's not New York.
