Fun things to do in San Francisco or San Jose with a 9 year old?

so tomorrow I'm taking my nephew out for some bonding quality time lol and I was going to take him to the Zoo but it might rain so now idk what to do or where to take him...so can someone please help me out and give me some ideas? thanksFun things to do in San Francisco or San Jose with a 9 year old?

-Zoo (as you said)

-China Town (I remember going with my friend's family when I was in 4th grade. It was really cool. There are some great restaurants. Make sure you go to the Fortune Cookie factory if you do go to China Town!)



SJ:

-The Winchester Mystery house

-The Tech Museum of Innovation (There are some really cool exhibits. Also, they show IMax movies there. It's good for about 9-12 year olds)





Also:

-You could just go to a park then out to lunch wherever

-Go to a movie. My little sister (8 years old) loved the Percy Jackson movie.
The Zeum. it's SOOO much fun! My elementry school used to take a yearly trip there. It's a children's museum but with a lot of hands on satuff like learning etc. You can make little clay figures and make a stop motion video, you can go to a digital workshop, you can make music videos, etc. They have this game that its one of those where you have to guide a ball through the maze, but it's a gigantic one on the ground and you use you body to move it. I agree with the Exploratorium (http://www.exploratorium.edu/). Another idea is to head to Golden Gate Park to visit the Academy of Sciences (http://www.calacademy.org/). The San Francisco Bay Aquarium in Fisherman's Wharf is also pretty fun (http://www.san-francisco-tourism-tips.co鈥?/a>

The Exploratorium is a great place for a 9 year old.



Another alternative is the Walt Disney Family Museum. It is in the Presidio not far from the Exploratorium.



The Disney thing limits the amount of visitors per day and may be sold out, check their web site.
